TRAVEL / STREET PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind..”
– Anthony Bourdain.

The travel & street category is for photographs that reveal something about environments natural or human that evokes a feeling of exploration and discovery. It can be interpreted broadly with photographs domestic and overseas being considered in a travel or street photography context.

It may contain a fleeting observation or a documentation of custom, culture or history. The subject matter may span other categories such as portrait or landscape, it could document occurrences on the street or even tourism and its impact. Judging of the category will be interpreted broadly.

Entrants are encouraged to submit authentic and original photography and to experiment with what travel and street photography can be. We want to see new exciting imagery that tells us a different story.

Although we accept imagery that has been entered in other competitions we are on a mission to find original, undiscovered work we have not seen before.
